By downloading, installing, or using Bearing ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
Bearing is an educational tool. It provides general information about lab tests and health metrics to help you understand your own data. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a medical device.
The App uses automated systems, including AI, to read your lab documents, extract values, and generate plain-language explanations. These systems can make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing extracted values for accuracy before relying on them, and you should not treat any explanation as a professional opinion. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is processed.
Bearing offers auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account upon purchase confirmation. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's account settings. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the store you bought from handles refunds and any right of withdrawal you have under your local law.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You retain ownership of the health data you add. You can delete your data or your entire account at any time from within the App.
All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by Berkeley Labs and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Berkeley Labs does not warrant that the App, or any values or explanations it produces, will be accurate, error-free, or uninterrupted. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that these Terms cannot change.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Berkeley Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, or for any decision made in reliance on information the App provides. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you notice of material changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Bearing is offered only in the countries and regions where it is available on the App Store or Google Play. It is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland and is not intended for use there, so please do not use it if you are located in one of those regions. If you use it from one of them anyway, nothing in these Terms limits protections that the law there does not allow to be limited.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington.
